Upgrading Microsoft Windows Server THE RIGHT WAY

Windows System Administrators frequently receive requests from Windows users to upgrade their servers, especially those using older versions/flavors of Microsoft Windows Server that no longer receive operating system patches available to the general public. With Microsoft no longer offering free support for older Windows Server versions and patches that reach end-of-life support status, data and applications located on these servers become vulnerable to compromise, attack, failure and instability.

As soon as possible, upgrade to a STABLE VERIFIED Version of Microsoft Windows Server.

Let’s assume these questionable servers are running Microsoft Windows Server 2012; to update to Windows Server 2019, here is a step-by-step guide on upgrading them.

Preparation:- for Windows Server 2019 Download: Whilst backups should be conducted regularly on all important server data, ensure all necessary system requirements have been fulfilled as well as meeting any system specific criteria that may affect Windows Server 2019. Throughout these processes it is also important to remember to set aside enough storage capacity on your server to accommodate Windows Server 2019. Ultimately the download should take approximately 20-25 minutes per machine on average and take place from within Windows Explorer on Windows 8/8x servers and desktop PCs respectively.

Microsoft Windows Server 2019 ISO can be obtained by visiting their official site. When planning an upgrade, be sure to evaluate any installed applications, features or roles which may conflict with Windows Server 2019, such as updates or uninstallation of certain applications or features that won’t work with it. And perform a Compatibility Test as soon as you’re finished installing everything!
Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkits (MAP) can also help identify any potential issues. You can upgrade Windows Server 2019 using either media or ISO files and running setup.exe directly for upgrades.
Follow Installation Wizard’s Directions:

The wizard will guide you through an upgrade process. Follow his or her instructions, accepting the terms of your license agreement and choosing installation options that best meet your needs. When finished, continue with configuration tasks and post upgrade tasks for optimal results.

Once installation is complete, configure settings and network configurations as necessary. Install all available Windows updates, device drivers and Windows patches as necessary before performing thorough testing on upgraded servers to ensure they function as expected and fixing any potential problems as soon as they arise. Documentations is an integral component of successful upgrades – always be sure that any updated documents contain current details for ease of future reference.
Document your upgrade process and configurations so you can easily refer back to them later.
